
Dr. Ben Wynne will discuss Franklin Roosevelt’s pre-war presidency and his visit to Gainesville after the devastating 1936 tornado next week at the Northeast Georgia History Center (NGHC).
Included will be an overview of Roosevelt’s rise to the nation’s highest office, the origins of some of his New Deal programs, and a treatment of the deadly tornado and its aftermath.
There will be a Question-and-Answer session with Dr. Wynne, a professor of history at the University of North Georgia Gainesville, at the end of his presentation.
