*Georgia has launched the “Eyes on the Road” campaign in partnership with businesses to help locate missing children statewide. Led by Attorney General Chris Carr, the initiative aims to engage the private sector in combating human trafficking and recovering missing children. Companies like UPS, RaceTrac, TAT, and GHLA are already participating in the campaign, receiving alerts for missing children and taking action to report any sightings.
*The GOP is pouring millions into an effort to oust Sen. Jon Ossoff from his seat. The AJC reports the political action committee Senate Leadership Fund is investing $44 million to back Republican contenders ahead of the November general election, when Ossoff is looking to win a second term. The Democrat says his opponents have made it clear they will be Donald Trump’s puppets. The Republican candidates are Buddy Carter, Mike Collins and Derek Dooley.
*Atlanta-based Coca-Cola recently inked a deal with Marriott International to become its beverage provider. The deal is a huge win for Coke, given Marriott’s global footprint with 9,700 properties in 143 countries. The agreement has Coke replacing its long-time competitor, Pepsi. This rivalry with the hotel chain began in 1992, after Coca-Cola refused a multimillion-dollar loan request during Marriott’s period of financial difficulty. So, Marriott went with Pepsi. According to Beverage Digest, hotel guests will soon begin to see Coke brands across Marriott Hotels, including Courtyard, Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton, and Westin.
