Hall County Animal Control has concluded its initial investigation into an animal cruelty complaint Gainesville Police received last week.

A resident of Banks Street told police someone had shot his cat with a BB or pellet gun on Thursday. Police turned the matter over to animal control whose report was made available Wednesday.

The investigating officer said the complainant reported that a pellet was lodged under the animal’s skin but that the cat was doing fine since the projectile was removed but neither he nor his wife knew who shot it.
