*TSA workers at Hartsfield-Jackson can keep gift cards donated by Tyler Perry after days of confusion over whether they would have to return them. Perry, an Atlanta-based actor and playright, gave $250,000 in $1,000 gift cards to help employees who had been working without pay during the partial government shutdown. His spokesperson says the DHS and TSA legal team confirmed Tuesday that workers can keep the money.
*More than 40 Georgia licensing boards have agreed to a three-million-dollar settlement over claims they failed to recognize out-of-state professional licenses for servicemembers and their spouses. Federal officials say up to 5,000 military families may be eligible for compensation. The settlement also requires the boards to adopt new policies to comply with federal law.
*The GBI has arrested and charged Freddie Lee Granger Jr., 68, Waycross, with one count of Rape, one count of Aggravated Assault, one count of Malice Murder, and two counts of Felony Murder in connection with the 1984 rape and murder of 22-year-old Sandra Kaye Davis. The GBI says continued DNA testing linked Granger to the crime.
