A large crowd attended the Toccoa Police Department’s open house for their new facility on Friday, March 27. It was a great day welcoming so many people to tour the new facility and meet members of the Toccoa Police Department, said Chief Bruce Carlisle.

Chief Carlisle presented framed certificates to the vendors who worked on the project, installing new cabinetry, concrete, flooring, furniture, landscaping, painting, plumbing, restrooms, security, signage, and technology. Officers and staff also assisted with much of that work.

Toccoa City Manager Fredda Wheeler is grateful to everyone who worked on the facility.

This was a great day for the City of Toccoa, said Mayor Evan Hellenga.

The Toccoa City Courtroom will move from City Hall to the new facility on Fernside Drive on July 2.

Toccoa Vice Mayor Michelle Jamieson oversaw the project for the City Commission and reported to them on the facility’s progress throughout the project. She said it’s a facility that everyone can be proud of.

The new Toccoa Police Department is located at 1763 Fernside Drive, right beside the Toccoa Fire Department.
