KSU, UGA eliminated in first round games of men’s college basketball tournament

(SRN NEWS/AP) – Graham Ike scored 19 points and Davis Fogle added 17 off the bench to lead a balanced attack as the Gonzaga held off Kennesaw State 73-64.

Jalen Warley had 12 points and 12 rebounds for his second double-double of the season for the Bulldogs, who won their 17th straight NCAA Tournament opener.

RJ Johnson and Amir Taylor each scored 15 points, Kaden Rickard had 14 points and Frankquon Sherman notched 13 points and 10 rebounds for the 14th-seeded Owls.

Dion Brown scored 18 points, and the St. Louis Billikens ran a layup line for most of a 102-77 rout of the Georgia Bulldogs in Buffalo.

Amari McCottry added 13 for Saint Louis (29-5). Robbie Avila chipped in 12 points, five rebounds and five assists. Saint Louis never trailed and owned a 40-point advantage on two occasions in the second half.

Jeremiah Wilkinson scored a game-high 30 points for Georgia (22-11), and Marcus Millender added 13. The Bulldogs made only 9 of 35 shots (25.7%) in the first half.
