People looking for safe, trusted care should look to Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS), according to three national awards the organization recently received.

Press Ganey, a leading third-party company that tracks and analyzes patient safety and satisfaction at hospitals across the nation, recognized Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Lumpkin in Dahlonega with the Human Experience Zero Harm Award. The award is given to hospitals that have zero serious safety events during a defined 12-month period. NGMC Lumpkin was one of only 23 hospitals nationwide to win this award.

“The communities we serve expect and rely on having safe, high-quality care close to home,” said John Kueven, NGHS’ chief operating officer. “We’re blessed to have amazing staff, nurses, physicians and other clinicians providing that level of outstanding care in Lumpkin County and across NGHS. Safety is always our top priority.”

Press Ganey also recognized NGHS with two other awards: the Serious Safety Event Rate Reduction Award, which recognizes teams across the system that helped reduce serious safety events by at least 50% overall, and the Guardian of Excellence Award in Consumer Experience which recognizes organizations with a strong public reputation based on key factors like third-party ratings that influence how healthcare consumers find and choose providers.
