STEPHENS COUNTY, Ga. — No injuries were reported after a firearm was discharged in the parking lot of Stephens County High School on Tuesday evening.

According to a statement from Stephens County Schools, the incident occurred during a school event. Local law enforcement responded immediately, and the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution. The lockdown was lifted once law enforcement ensured the scene was secure.

School officials stated they are working closely with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
