An Elite 8 last year, and a Final 4 the year prior. And largely the same, great roster intact means this year’s senior group is set to make some history as they’ve had natural progression in their skill. Among the many goals including winning the region title for the first time since 2019 and perhaps the first state title in program history.
PRESEASON INFO
2025 Record: 14-5; State Elite 8; Region RU; #1 State Rank
Head Coach: Zach Arceneaux (3rd Season)
Returning Starters: 16 who started games
Key Departures: Elena Nelson, Melodie Martin
Key Players: Harper Dussouy, Cayden Townley, Hayden Hand, Maddie Clifford, Corbi Hicks, Ryleigh Adamson
“We have a ton of great players who are returning this year, that include 2025 captains and All-Region team selections,” says Arceneaux. “All but two varsity players from last season are returning for the 2026 season.”
Strengths: “We have a super experienced team with some incredible seniors. These seniors have been playing varsity since they got to high school and have had a huge impact on our program in what is probably the most successful 4-year stretch of our girls program. In addition to our senior leadership, we have great depth and experience across the board. When you have that kind of talent in your team, it really gives us a lot of options for each unique game we will play.”
Team Goals/Expectations: “Coming off back-to-back deep playoff runs, our team is well-equipped to be competitive in each game, compete for the region title, and make a deep state playoff run towards winning the first state championship in our program’s history.”
