The stars of Queer Eye have used their expertise to help others throughout the show’s nearly decade-long run, and the Fab Five also navigate their own lives off-screen, including raising children.
Now, the Netflix reboot is coming to an end with its 10th season, which premiered on Jan. 21, featuring the Fab Five in Washington, D.C.
The latest installment sees the return of the show’s longtime stars Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness as experts in their respective fields. Jeremiah Brent, who joined the cast for season 9 following the departure of Bobby Berk, is also back.
On-screen, the Fab Five band together to give a holistic makeover of each “heroes” look, wardrobe, space and self-confidence, usually with the help of their friends and family. In real-life, the group has their own support systems in their family, including their kids.
Brent, who shares a son and daughter with his husband Nate Berkus, talked about his experience joining the Fab Five in a March 2024 interview with House Beautiful and how it differed from his day-to-day life as a father.
“I haven’t laughed this hard in a long, long time,” he explained at the time. “In some ways, Queer Eye is connecting me to a part of myself that I had left behind, because I’m in dad mode and I run a business. With them, I get to be a little bit more free.”
Here’s everything to know about the children of the Queer Eye cast.

Brown, who serves as the resident culture expert for Queer Eye, is the father of two children. His older son, Jason “Rachel” Brown, was born in November 1996 and his younger son, Christian Brown, was born in March 2000.
The television host and author first discovered he was a father in 2006 when he found court papers at his doorstep looking for child support for his older son, then 10, according to Karamo: My Story of Embracing Purpose, Healing, and Hope. On the paperwork, he recognized the name of his friend from high school, Stephanie Brooks, and a paternity test confirmed he was Jason’s father.
After connecting with Jason, Brown also grew close with Brooks’ other son, Christian, and he eventually became his legal guardian in 2011, according to PARENTS.
Brown dove headfirst into parenthood with Jason and Christian and has been candid over the years about how he navigated his life transition. Speaking to PARENTS in August 2023, he explained, “The adjustment process was challenging at times.”
“New house means new rules and expectations not just for the children but for me — the parent — as well,” he added. “Navigating each other’s expectations, the move-in, diet, friends, school, and homework can be overwhelming.”
Jason has pursued a similar career path to his father, with The Advocate reporting in September 2019 that he was studying acting at the University of California, Los Angeles. He told Slate in May 2018 that he was working toward becoming a host and executive producer, calling his dad “literally the most supportive person I could probably have in my corner.”
Christian also has embraced the creative life. He spoke to Slate about his sense of style, calling himself an artist, and also opened up about his songwriting and rapping.
“There will be times where I just start rapping to my dad and then I’ll go write some stuff,” Christian shared. “He’ll give me an idea or I’ll show him something like, ‘Hey Dad, what do you think about this verse?’ “

France, who is the fashion expert on Queer Eye, shares two children with his husband, Rob France. They welcomed their older son, Ismail France, in July 2021, and their younger son, Isaac France, in May 2023, both via surrogate.
France has credited becoming a father for helping him tap further into his feelings.
Speaking to PEOPLE in November 2022 after the birth of his first son, the fashion designer explained, “I have only cried a couple of times on [Queer Eye], but ever since I had my baby, it’s made me much more emotional.”
The following spring, when France and his husband announced they were expecting their second child in April 2023, the Queer Eye star quipped that his older son was “going to get the shock of his life in a few months.”
“All he knows is that he’s obsessed with monster trucks and cars,” France explained. “That’s all he knows. He doesn’t want to know anything else.”
His son’s love for the toys has been enduring.
“He is all about monster trucks, and so I’m constantly stepping on damn monster trucks. Do I like monster trucks? Hate them,” France joked to PEOPLE in July 2023. “But my house is now full of boy things because he’s obsessed.”

Brent, who is the recent interior design expert on Queer Eye, shares two children with his husband of over a decade, interior designer Berkus. They welcomed their first child, daughter Poppy Brent-Berkus, in March 2015 and their second child, son Oskar Michael Brent-Berkus, in March 2018, both via surrogate.
Poppy, who has lived in both California and New York, has a penchant for travel. Berkus told PEOPLE in March 2018 that his daughter is “super easy” to travel with and has been on trips with her parents.
He explained, “She’s traveled a lot with us; not crazy around the world, but she’s been to Mexico a couple of times. She loves traveling.”
She’s also shown off her creative side over the years, taking after both of her parents.
In February 2023, she attended New York Fashion Week and saw a Christian Siriano collection. On Instagram, Brent wrote, “Poppy’s first fashion week began with @csiriano’s incredible collection — she hasn’t stopped sketching dress ideas since.”
Brent described Poppy and Oskar as “the sweetest people we’ve ever met” during a May 2022 interview with PEOPLE. During the conversation, he highlighted his children’s different personalities, explaining, “The truth is, Poppy’s a born nurturer. She’s done this a million times. She’s an old soul.”
“And Oskar is just like a walking sugar bear, the cuddler,” Brent added. “He’s really empathetic and sweet, very sensitive. He’s got enough … He’s a little mischievous, which is fine.”
