(GPB News) – Georgia Health Initiative’s research focuses on helping a variety of people, nonprofit organizations and community stakeholders better understand the role Medicaid plays in Georgia.

The report from Georgia Health Initiative includes the latest data and analyses covering enrollment, benefits and services, service delivery, financing, and state priorities, with attention to recent federal updates, including provisions of H.R.1 that affect Georgia’s Medicaid program.

Vice President of Policy Cindy Zelfin said funding cuts to both Medicaid and health care delivery systems will lead to Georgians losing access to coverage.

“So there will be much for our state policy makers to think through as they reflect on our health, the state of our health care system and helping to make sure that people in Georgia have the coverage that they need to access healthcare services and live healthy lives,” she said.

The initiative’s research is for those who want to understand how health care works and who it serves in Georgia. Read the full report online.
