Dylan Mulvaney is sharing a sneak peek at rehearsals for her Broadway debut.
On Jan. 19, the TikTok star — who rose to fame online documenting her transition with the viral series “Days of Girlhood” — shared a post to TikTok to celebrate the first day of rehearsals for her stint playing Anne Boleyn in Six, which opens on Feb. 16
“Today is a pretty big day,” said Mulvaney, 29, who uses she/they pronouns.
In the video, Mulvaney addressed the many “lovely messages” she had received since it was announced that she would be assuming the iconic role — and also acknowledged that she had gotten some “not so lovely messages questioning my abilities or just hating in general.”

“My first instinct was to come on here and try to convince those people that I do have what it takes to be a Broadway performer and to tell you why,” she said. “But then I realized that I shouldn’t waste my own breath on that.”
Continued the performer: “This is a miracle. It’s a miracle for anyone to make it to Broadway, and there are so many incredible performers that deserve to be, and I genuinely hope that they will. But being a trans person in 2026, when this world is working against us in what feels like every way — for me to be able to step out onto a Broadway stage as Anne Boleyn and perform an iconic historical character’s role in a show that is so rooted in celebrating femininity, I think that’s a miracle.”

Mulvaney’s role in Six follows her Off-Broadway debut in the fall, performing in The Least Problematic Woman in the World, a one-woman show, in a limited run from Oct. 7 to Nov. 30.
Speaking to PEOPLE in July to reveal the exciting news that the show — which she wrote and had previously debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland — was coming to New York City, the internet personality shared that she “really excited to see how the humor plays, because I found the U.K. audiences to be a bit drier and a bit more drawn to the dark comedy.”
“That’s actually what I think will be a little shocking for some of my followers,” continued Mulvaney. “I have a much darker sense of humor than some people know, ’cause I don’t really share that side on social media.”

Mulvaney also shared that the show had been, in part, born from what she coined “Beergate” — the backlash to her 2023 sponsored video for Bud Light, during which critics, who were upset that the brand had partnered with a transgender woman, boycotted the brand and filmed themselves lighting beer boxes on fire.

“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I need to get back on stage, and it’s really hard to get cast as a trans person right now in theater,’ ” Mulvaney told PEOPLE. “So I was like, ‘I need to write something.’ ”
