The matchup for this year‘s national championship game will be set tonight as Oregon and Indiana face off in the Peach Bowl. Kickoff will be sometime after 7:30 PM Athens standard time live from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.Television coverage will be on ESPN and elsewhere across ye olde House of Mouse.
Top-ranked Indiana is a 3.5 point favorite according to the folks at FanDuel. Honestly that seems a tad low to me. Oregon may be without standout tailback Noah Whittingham, nursing an injury from the Ducks’ quarterfinal win. And the Hoosier offense is tailor made to hum in an indirr stadium like the Benz. While Oregon has a big, physical SEC-style defense, Coach Cignetti’s unit has also shown a lot of toughness in their late season run. I just don’t expect the Fightin’ Danny Lannings to be able to establish a consistent run game in this one, and without that they’re not keeping up with Indiana.
