One person was killed in an early morning fire Tuesday in South Hall.

“At approximately 3:40 a.m., Hall County Fire Rescue (HCFR) units were dispatched to the 3700 block of Tanners Mill Road for reports of a residential fire and potential resident still inside the structure,” HCFR spokeswoman Kimberlie Ledsinger said. “Crews arrived on scene and discovered a small single-story residential structure fully involved. HCFR personnel pulled hose lines immediately and began a defensive attack on the flames from the exterior of the home.”

Ledsinger said the fire was quickly brought under control and during a search of the house, firefighters found one body.

“The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office,” she added. “The scene was turned over to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office for the official death investigation.”
