Gordon Ramsay Celebrates 29th Wedding Anniversary with Wife and ‘Best Friend’ Tana: ‘What a Journey’

Gordon and Tana Ramsay have another year of marriage under their belts.

The couple celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 21, and Gordon, 59, marked the occasion with a sentimental tribute post on Instagram.

“29yrs ago I got to marry my best friend,” the chef and restaurateur wrote in his caption alongside various throwback photos of himself and Tana, 51, on their wedding day, as well as some more recent snapshots.

Gordon added: “What a journey and thank you ❤️Love you so much❤️.”

Tana first met Gordon at a New Year’s Eve party when she was in her 20s. At the time, the cookbook author and former teacher was engaged to someone else and not interested in Gordon, whom she described as “a complete arrogant arse,” according to a 2008 profile story in The Guardian.

The two eventually ran into each other again at a flat Tana shared with a mutual friend, and she and Gordon hit it off and started dating. The couple tied the knot in December 1996.

Gordon told PEOPLE in May 2024 that making sure the couple has quality time together is what keeps the spark alive.

“Date nights are crucial, whether it’s the cinema, whether it’s going out for a drive. We have a little time, but it’s quality, and so that is really important,” he said.

Gordon and Tana are parents to six children together, three daughters and three sons.

The pair became first-time parents in 1998 after welcoming their eldest daughter, Megan Ramsay. A year later, their family grew with the birth of fraternal twins, daughter Holly Ramsay and son Jack Ramsay, and daughter Matilda “Tilly” Ramsay then joined in 2001.

Gordon and Tana opted to expand their family years later, but they experienced a miscarriage in 2016.

In 2019, son Oscar Ramsay was born, and the family welcomed their latest addition through son Jesse Ramsay in 2023.
