A 7-year-old boy ran away from his home in The Falls subdivision off Butler Bridge Road in Newton County, prompting a countywide alert.

The young boy is described as 3-feet tall and weighing about 50 pounds.

According to investigators, he is homeschooled and was last seen at the residence at about 1 p.m.
