The final numbers have been released behind the totals from roadway travel in Georgia over the Thanksgiving 2025 holiday weekend.
The Georgia Department of Public Safety (GDPS) posted after 10:30 a.m. on Monday their updated numbers showing that between Wednesday, November 26 and Sunday, November 30, 2025 there were 11 fatalities and at least 236 injuries sustained from wrecks across the state. Those numbers came from the 498 total crashes that were called into law enforcement agencies statewide during the extended holiday.
The GDPS also indicated in their social media page that there were a total of 686 reports of distracted driving instances along with 847 citations for improper or non-use of seatbelts by vehicle occupants. While 48 crash reports involved drivers being under the influence (DUI) of a substance, there were a total of 422 charges for DUI during this time frame.
One of the 11 fatalities occurred in Lumpkin County on Friday evening, November 28, 2025 when 32-year old driver Christopher Parker of Dahlonega was travelling along SR 115 (Cleveland Highway) in Murrayville near the crossing of Grindle Brothers Road, when his car crossed the center lines and struck another vehicle head-on.
The GDPS’s updated and final listing of the fatal crashes, including their locations throughout Georgia can be viewed at the Georgia Department of Public Safety’s Facebook page post.
