Memorial services have been set for a former Habersham County Sheriff.
According to an obituary from McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home, James DeRay Fincher passed away on Nov. 25 at the age of 76. Fincher served as Sheriff from 2005 to 2008. He also previously served as a Georgia State Patrol Captain.
The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office shared in a social media post Monday that services will be held at the funeral home in Cornelia on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.
HCSO said memorial donations may be made to Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes, 1000 Sheriffs Way, Madison, GA 30650 or online at www.georgiasheriffsyouth.org.
