JEFFERSON, Ga. — The Buford girls fell behind early and could not catch up in suffering their first loss of the season, 60-40, in the semifinals of the Jackson EMC Tournament at The Arena on Monday.
Westside jumped out to a 16-6 lead after the first quarter and would take a 28-23 advantage into halftime. The Lady Rams, out of Anderson, S.C., increased their lead to 44-32 heading into the fourth quarter.
E’miah Fields paced Buford (1-1) with 16 points. Lydia Ledford added 13 points as no other players had more than 5 points for the Lady Wolves.
Khalia Hartwell had 16 points to lead Westside. Makyhia Paul had 13 points, Maria Randolph 11 points, and Harmoni Earl 10 points for the Lady Rams.
