The BLITZ Football Players of the Week are Ty Truelove (Rabun), Reid Giles (Rabun County), and Darren Pinkard (Jefferson).
TY TRUELOVE – RABUN COUNTY
Ty Truelove earns his sixth career POW award. The Rabun County QB1 threw for 102 yards on 8-for-11 passing, tossing TDs to Reed Lafevers and Ethan Hopper. He added 40 rushing yards and a TD as well, with the Wildcats blowing past Berrien 35-0 to reach the Quarterfinals.
REID GILES – RABUN COUNTY
Reid Giles does it again! The senior do-it-all for Rabun County was responsible for 175 rushing yards and a TD, 37 receiving yards, and four tackles as well as an interception in the blowout second round win against Berrien. This is his seventh career POW award.
DARREN PINKARD – JEFFERSON
Back-to-back weeks for Darren Pinkard as POW. The senior athlete has emerged as a playoff weapon on offense as much as defense. He tallied 63 rushing yards on just nine carries (7.0 YPC), with four reaching the end zone. FOUR touchdowns. He added 35 receiving yards on three catches, and had another solid outing defensively as well.
