The WNBA Draft Lottery results come as no surprise

Entering the night, the Wings held a 42% chance to land the No. 1 pick, after securing Paige Bueckers with the first overall pick last year.

Four other teams were in contention for the top pick entering Sunday:

  • The Minnesota Lynx (via Chicago Sky trade) held a 26.1% chance,
  • The Seattle Storm (via Los Angeles Sparks) held a 16.7% chance
  • The Washington Mystics held a 9.7% chance
  • The Chicago Sky held a 5.5% chance

Several standout players could be selected with the No. 1 overall pick, among them:

  • UCLA center Lauren Bett
  • TCU point guard Olivia Miles
  • UConn shooting guard Azzi Fudd
  • Spanish center Awa Fam
  • LSU shooting guard Flaujae Johnson

How the top picks shake up remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain: there is no shortage of talent in the incoming draft class.
