Macaulay Culkin is reminding people of his real name.
The actor, 45, answered a question about his “actual name” at A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin, an event celebrating the 35th anniversary of Home Alone, on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, Calif.
“My name is Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin,” he said, before recalling doing a poll where fans got to vote to change his middle name.
The poll was announced on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2018. A month later, he shared on Twitter (now X) that the public voted to change his middle name from Carson to Macaulay Culkin.
Culkin legally changed his middle name in 2019.

Culkin reminded the audience of the other name change options, which included “The McRib is Back” and “Kieran.”
“Macaulay Kieran Culkin. That would be great. I love my brother. Between me and him we have exactly one Oscar,” the actor said in reference to his brother, actor Kieran Culkin, who won an Oscar in March for his performance in A Real Pain.
“The final vote was Macaulay Culkin,” he continued. “So my name is Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin. If somebody comes up to me at the airport and says, ‘Excuse me, are you Macaulay Culkin?’ I can say, ‘Well, Macaulay Culkin is my middle name. ‘ ”
That, according to the actor, was the main goal of his name change. “I did it all for that one joke. And a bit on Fallon,” he explained.

Saturday’s 35th anniversary event included a screening of Home Alone, a moderated Q&A with Macaulay and a trivia game for children.
In Home Alone, Macaulay played Kevin McCallister, a kid who single-handedly fends off burglars, in the 1990 original and its 1992 sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. He paid homage to his breakthrough role in his new “Home But Not Alone” campaign for Home Instead, a company that provides in-home care for older adults.
The various ads will air during screenings of Home Alone and other holiday programming as well as during college football games through Jan. 11, according to a press release.
