Columbus police have arrested a suspect wanted for the murder of Xavier Igus at the Budgetel Inn on Victory Drive in Columbus. On November 18, 2025, Ricky Daniels, 23, was taken into custody by CPD’s Fugitive Unit. He is charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime in the death of Igus.
On November 16, 2025 at 7:19 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 3100 block of Victory Drive in reference to a shooting. Responding officers discovered a Black male (later identified as Xavier Igus, 31) suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Piedmont Columbus Regional where he succumbed to his injuries. An emergency room doctor pronounced him deceased at 8:04 p.m.
Daniels is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 8 a.m.
