Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season will kick off tonight with an AFC showdown featuring the Buffalo Bills visiting the Houston Texans at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
The Bills were able to triumph in a 44-32 shootout against the Buccaneers on Sunday, bouncing back from their embarrassing blowout loss a week prior. Wide receiver Tyrell Shavers was an unexpected central figure of the victory and delivered the best outing of his three-year career.
Below, we’ll go over Shavers’ outlook in fantasy football for Week 12.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bills WR Tyrell Shavers
Shavers caught four of five targets for 90 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s win over the Bucs, allowing him to finish as a top-10 fantasy wideout in all scoring formats last week. His trip to the end-zone was a 43-yard bomb from Josh Allen that put the Bills on top in the second quarter, setting the tone for a back-and-forth battle that had nine lead changes.
The third-year receiver got extra reps in this game due to Keon Coleman being benched for being late to a team-meeting on Friday. This wasn’t the first time that he’s been in the dog house with the coaching staff for not being on time and patience is starting to wear thin in Buffalo with the 2024 second-round pick. There’s a possibility that this situation could lead to Shavers getting more opportunities and we’ll see if that’s the case in tonight’s matchup.
Start or sit in Week 12?
Sit. Another aspect of Sunday’s win over the Bucs was leading wideout Khalil Shakir being held to just one reception for -3 yards and it’s hard to imagine him being shut down like that for two games in a row. Between that and Coleman’s return to the field, I think Shavers will come back down to earth and command just a few targets tonight. Still, keep tabs on him as a potential waiver wire candidate for next week.
