Six area teams are still on track for a trip to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Buford, Gainesville, Jackson County, North Hall, Jefferson and Rabun County are still alive in the Georgia High School Association’s football playoffs.
Five of those six teams will host second-round matchups, with Gainesville on the road at Brunswick. Friday Game Night will have coverage of all six games, including three on the Jacobs Media airwaves.

Milton at Jackson County — Sounds weird, right? Milton at Jackson County. Yes, the defending Class 5A state champions will have to go through Jackson County in Hoschton on Friday night in front of a sold-out Panther Stadium. This one has the makings to be one for the record books — an epic showdown between two very good football teams. The Panthers have a pretty good shot at keeping a historic season rolling with a win on Friday. The game can be heard live on WDUN AM 550 (Click to listen live).
LaGrange at North Hall — North Hall will have its toughest test of the season when LaGrange rolls into The Brickyard for the second year in a row. Last season, the Grangers ran all over the Trojans in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A playoffs. LaGrange has a lot of weapons, but so do the Trojans. This one could be a dandy. The game can be heard live on FM 102.9 (Click to listen live).
Gainesville at Brunswick — What happens when you finish second in Region 7-5A this season — a trip to Brunswick in the second round. Big Red will have to travel over five hours to face a formidable Brunswick team. Gainesville should be the favorite in this one and should come home very happy. However, it’s the Class 5A playoffs; anything can happen. The game can be heard live on FM 94.5 The Lake (Click to listen live).
