BALDWIN — The Baldwin Police Department has arrested a 19-year-old man following an incident in the Chandler Heights subdivision on November 15, 2025. The suspect, identified as Elvin David Martinez-Bonilla, faces multiple felony charges, including child molestation.
Incident details and arrest
At approximately 2:15 AM on November 15 , a Baldwin Police officer was dispatched to an address in the Chandler Heights subdivision. Upon arrival, authorities determined that Martinez-Bonilla had unlawfully entered the residence. The homeowner encountered the suspect hiding in an upstairs room. At the time of the encounter, Martinez-Bonilla was nude. A brief struggle ensued between the two, after which the suspect fled the residence on foot, still nude.
Martinez-Bonilla was later located near the BP store on Charlie Davis Road and taken into custody by Habersham County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Charges filed and ongoing investigation
During the initial interview, investigators discovered that Martinez-Bonilla had allegedly engaged in lewd acts with a juvenile victim, who was found to be under the age of 16.
Martinez-Bonilla has been charged with the following offenses:
- Child Molestation
- Burglary
- Public Indecency
- Simple Battery
- Obstruction
BPD confirmed the case is active, and the investigation is ongoing.
