CLERMONT, Ga. – North Hall scored the first 28 points of Friday night’s opening round contest in the Class 3A playoffs as they routed Mt. Zion – Jonesboro, 62-26.
Wyatt Tumlin had three rushing touchdowns on the night, including a 3-yard run that pushed the score to 14-0 midway through the first quarter and a 64-yard sprint early in the second to cap the 28-0 start for North Hall.
From there, the two teams traded scores the majority of the night as every time the visitors would score, the Trojans answered to advance on in the state playoffs.
Alex Schlieman finished the night 23-for-28 through the air for 306 yards and four touchdowns, two of which were to Jack Macloskie. The other two went to Smith McGarvey and Dawson Gray. Tumlin tallied 113 yards on the ground on just seven carries.
North Hall will either host LaGrange or North Clayton in the second round next week at The Brickyard.
