Tallulah Falls (1-0) held a lead from start to finish on Wednesday at home against #6-ranked Towns County (0-1). The home Indians jumped out to a 14-4 lead and never looked back in a 68-56 final.

The success offensively stemmed from spreading the floor on 3-pointers while also knocking down shots in the paint. Early on, it was Matus Zlocha and Todor Stanimirovic hitting the deep shots.

Towns County responded from there, but the teams traded buckets virtually the rest of the game. Jonas Rouse got the first nine points for Towns, but Tallulah’s Marquis Rolle also got hot, and Stanimirovic beat the halftime buzzer with a lay-in and the 33-23 lead.

In the third, Tucker Engert really got going. He had 10 second half points and nine in the first half, while Rouse also had 12 in the second half as part of his big night.

Towns County was within seven with under four minutes to play, but the home team had a few fast break buckets to maintain the edge.

For TFS, Zlocha and Stanimirovic both had 14 points. Neyo Bain and Brian Neely added 10 apiece. Rolle had nine, Judah McIntosh had five, Alberto Battino added four, and Bryson Perdue had two.

Towns County got 21 points from Rouse and 19 from Engert. Cruz Kitchens chipped in with eight, Mason Pierson and Dustin Barrett had three apiece, and Sam Sarafin had two.
