Robert Irwin Named a Newborn Wallaby at the Australia Zoo After “DWTS ”Partner Witney Carson

Robert Irwin honored his Dancing with the Stars partner with a baby marsupial named after her.

In a video shared on Instagram, Irwin, 21, presents DWTS pro Witney Carson with a uniform shirt from his family’s Australia Zoo, where he works as a wildlife conservationist alongside mom Terri, 61, sister Bindi, 27, and brother-in-law Chandler Powell, 28.

“Back home at Australia Zoo, we had some very exciting news just come through. Very exciting,” continues Robert, the son of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin.

The DWTS competitor then reveals the fitting tribute to Carson.

“We have had a beautiful baby wallaby. And she’s absolutely gorgeous. And I wanted to show you for the first time — this is Witney the wallaby,” he says, pulling up an image of the animal on his phone.

“She’s so cute!’ Carson gushes, as Robert jokes, “She looks just like you. Uncanny. It’s absolutely uncanny.”

“Come to Australia, and you can take care of Witney the wallaby,” he adds.

“That is awesome,” Carson tells him, giving him a high five.

In a caption for the video, the zoo said the young wallaby is “already hopping circles around us with her moves!”

Fans expressed delight over Carson’s new namesake, with one commenting, “Literally the cutest and kindest gesture ever!!!”

“Not to be dramatic but we LOVE Witney the wallaby 😍,” wrote the official DWTS account.

Robert had a special guest during last week’s rehearsals for the dance competition series.

On Nov. 7, Bindi posted a photo of her daughter Grace Warrior, 4, visiting her uncle. 

Bindi, who won season 21 of the show with partner Derek Hough, smiled with her arm around Robert, who crouched down next to Carson. 

“Celebrating 20 years of @dancingwiththestars. So incredibly special to bring Grace to the rehearsal studio,” Bindi captioned the post.

“Her favourite part? ‘Dance Class’ with Witney and Uncle Robert. 🥹 My. Heart. #TeamIrWINit,” she added.
