Harold Fannin injury: What status means for Week 10 vs. Jets

The 2-6 Cleveland Browns will head to New Jersey this weekend to take on the 1-7 New York Jets as 2.5-point favorites in the lowest over/under game of the week. The Browns are dead last in yards per play at 4.1, as they look to win with defense, Quinshon Judkins running the ball, and Dillon Gabriel throwing a few feet beyond the line of scrimmage.

Amazingly, their offense has allowed tight ends Harold Fannin and sometimes David Njoku fantasy value. Unfortunately, Fannin is dealing with a hamstring injury and is questionable to play.

Harold Fannin injury updates

Fannin was able to practice on Wednesday, but then was a DNP on Thursday, but was able to get in a limited practice on Friday. He officially is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy football analysis

We may get some clarification before inactives come out Sunday, but at the moment we don’t have a good read on if he will play or not this week. This is a good matchup, as the Jets are below average at stopping opposing tight ends, while they also lost two of their best defenders in trades last week.

If Fannin appears good to go, he is a start, as he’s been the de facto TE1 this year in Cleveland and has been startable in fantasy more often than not. Njoku has some juice as well, and can be started even if Fannin plays, but he’s a bit riskier as long as Fannin plays his normal amount of snaps. Of course, if Fannin is out, Njoku becomes a must start this week.
