LAVONIA, Ga. — The Lavonia Police Department has earned one of the nation’s top honors for law enforcement leadership, receiving the FBI-LEEDA Agency Trilogy Award. The recognition highlights the department’s strong commitment to professional growth and effective leadership at every level.
The FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) presents the Trilogy Award to agencies whose command staff complete all three of its advanced leadership programs — the Supervisor Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute, and Executive Leadership Institute. The series is designed to prepare law enforcement leaders for the complex challenges of modern policing.
“This award is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our command staff,” said Lavonia Police Chief Shane Edmisten. “Investing in leadership development not only strengthens our department but enhances our ability to serve the people of Lavonia with integrity, accountability, and respect.”
Earning the Agency Trilogy Award places Lavonia among a select group of departments nationwide that prioritize continuous leadership training. Department leaders say that ongoing education leads to safer communities, stronger partnerships, and more effective service to the public.
The accomplishment reflects the department’s guiding principles of honesty, professionalism, and integrity — values that Chief Edmisten says remain central to every officer’s mission.
Congratulations to the Lavonia Police Department on this milestone and its continued commitment to excellence in service and leadership.
