A man was shot and killed as he sat in the passenger side of a vehicle parked at Azalea Ridge Apartments in Columbus. The victim was shot multiple times according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan who identified the man as 30-year-old Demetrius Wilkerson.
The shooter drove up next to the vehicle in the parking lot and opened fire. The driver of the vehicle Wilkerson was in witnessed the shooting. The incident is under investigation and there is no word on any suspects at this time.
