A Blairsville man was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 5, on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Pleasant Hill Road at around 4 a.m. for the alleged assault. When deputies arrived, they found a man with severe injuries.
That man was airlifted to a trauma center, where he is currently in critical condition.
Charles Bennett, 56, was at the scene and taken into custody. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and will be booked into the Union County Detention Center. More charges are expected.
