The BLITZ Defensive Players of the Month for Weeks 9-12 are Dawson’s Jadyn Mattie and White’s Reid Penrose. Mattie won the Fan Vote with 11,340 of the 15,099 total votes. Penrose was the BLITZ Pick.
JADYN MATTIE – DAWSON COUNTY
Dawson County’s Jadyn Mattie was seemingly around the ball on every play for a 4-week span. The Tigers’ safety had 34 tackles (one for loss), two fumble recoveries, and five pass deflections, earning Defensive Player of the Month status. He closed his season with 75 TKL, 2 TFL, 3 FR, 5 PD, and 1 BLK.
REID PENROSE – WHITE COUNTY
Reid Penrose made the most of his one season at White County. The senior linebacker was special on defense, especially over the last four games. In that, he registered 44 tackles (two for loss) and had two interceptions. Penrose closed his season for the Warriors with 100 TKL, 6 TFL, 2 Sacks, 4 INT, and added 176 receiving yards with a TD.
