Two people displaced after house fire on Ga. 52 near Lula

Two people and one dog were displaced on Tuesday, Nov. 4, after a single-story house fire on Highway 52 near Lula. 

Hall County Fire Rescue said units responded at around 12 p.m. and found the basement of the home fully involved with flames. 

Crews pulled a hose line to the exterior of the home to attack the flames. The bulk of the fire was extinguished, but the home was declared a total loss. 

One vehicle in the driveway was also destroyed. 

The American Red Cross was notified about the residents and the dog.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.

A house fire has been blocking a state highway in the Lula area of eastern Hall County.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said the fire is in the 4700 block of Ga. 52/Lula Road, between Old Cornelia Highway and Timberidge Road. That portion of Ga. 52 is being blocked while crews work the scene.

No other details on the fire have been made available as of Tuesday afternoon.
