Not long after the news of Georgia representative Marcus Wiedower’s resignation, a new candidate has announced that they will be running for his seat.
Eric Gisler has announced he will be running in the December special election to represent Georgia House District 121. The district encompasses Oconee and Clarke counties.
Republican Marcus Wiedower recently announced his immediate resignation from the House seat, triggering a special election.
Gisler will run as a Democrat and his campaign will prioritize healthcare access, quality schools, and affordable housing. His campaign was already underway for the 2026 election for the same seat.
Gisler is a University of Georgia alum and small business owner.
