LUMPKIN COUNTY — A White County teenager died Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash west of Cleveland.

The Georgia State Patrol said the wreck happened at 3:59 p.m. at the intersection of Town Creek Church Road and Carriage Court in Lumpkin County.

Troopers identified the drivers as 16-year-old Jonah L. Seabolt of Cleveland and Joshua T. Webb, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe north on Town Creek Church Road. Seabolt was headed south in a 2002 Ford Ranger.

According to GSP, Webb was driving under the influence, was distracted by his cell phone, and failed to maintain his lane. Investigators say his vehicle crossed the centerline and hit the front of Seabolt’s truck head-on.

Both drivers were unrestrained, according to the State Patrol.

Seabolt died from his injuries at the scene.

Lumpkin County EMS transported Webb to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

The Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate.
