A White County man was killed in a crash near Demorest Saturday afternoon.
Authorities said the crash happened at around 1:15 p.m. Saturday, October 25 on Ga. 105/Cannon Bridge Road at Cap Fry Road. A report released by the Georgia State Patrol detailed the collision.
“A 2017 Dodge Journey was attempting to turn left on Cap Fry Road when it was struck in the rear by a 2006 Ford F150,” the GSP report said.
The driver of that Dodge Journey, Arlen R. Garrett, age 71 of Cleveland, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville where he later died from his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the state patrol, with the name of the F150 driver not yet released and no confirmation of charges being filed as of Monday morning, October 27.
The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office said the wreck left at least one lane of Cannon Bridge Road blocked until 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
