A Gainesville man has been arrested after authorities said they found dozens of images of child pornography on his electronic devices this week.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation into Cameron Dakota Dove, age 29, began on Oct. 13 after investigators got a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Deputies then executed a search warrant at Dove’s home near the Dawsonville Highway corridor of northwest Hall County on Thursday.

“While they were at his residence, they were able to seize multiple electronic devices that belonged to (Dove,) and they did an initial search of those electronic devices,” Williams said. “They immediately found 40 different images of children engaged in sexually explicit activity.”

Dove was arrested at the scene and taken to the Hall County Jail on 80 charges of sexual exploitation of children. Williams said 40 of the charges are for possession of the images, with another 40 charges for distribution of the images.

As of Thursday afternoon, Dove remained in the Hall County Jail without bond. Williams said more charges could be filed against Dove once investigators conduct a more thorough forensic analysis of the electronic devices.

Dove’s arrest came as he was out of jail on bond, awaiting trial in a previous child exploitation case that started in 2022 and culminated in a total of 66 charges of sexual exploitation of children. Williams said Dove’s arrest Thursday is for offenses that are unrelated to the previous investigation.
