Gainesville City Schools Superintendent Jeremy Williams received a contract extension at the board of education meeting on Monday, Oct. 20.
Williams’ current contract runs through June of 2026, and the extension will keep him with the school system until June 2028.
“My family and I have been blessed over the last 8.5 years to call Gainesville our home. With the support of the board, our employees, and community, we have been able to ensure our students have the resources they need to be successful,” Williams said. “I am fortunate to work alongside the Board, and we look forward to continuing our partnership for the Herd. Go Big Red!”
Williams’ annual salary will total $260,000 and can be increased by 3.5% each year if his overall evaluation for the previous year is deemed satisfactory.
