Winning Smart Victory Post #110

I’m not allowed to say that” ~ Kirby Smart

Y’all, you know what to expect during home games. I talk about my experience that day in Athens, who I brought to the game with me, and generally reminisce about the experience. Away games are different.

I only know a couple of Awbarn fans. One is your typically obnoxious fan, who thinks their team should win each and every game, and if they don’t, it’s bad officiating, cheating by the other team, or some other not-my-team’s-fault reason. The other? Well, he’s pretty reasonable, and until yesterday, had a 100% prediction rate of matchups between his beloved Tigers? Warplainsmen? Eagles? And our Bulldogs.

Earlier this week, I asked him for his prediction, and it was thus:

Tough

Auburn24

UGA 20

Ouch

Or UGA absolutely beats the crap out of them 42-20

Just think it’s one of those games for Auburn.

He got our score right, but his team missed two touchdowns he expected them to get. This morning, I realized I had missed a text from him from about 11PM last night:

This game sucks.

Had I seen this last night, I would have agreed with him. This morning, I still agree with him. That game sucked. For both teams.

However, it is our intention to celebrate Georgia Bulldog Football wins whenever and wherever they occur. The ugliness or beauty of any particular win is irrelevant for the purposes of the Winning Smart Victory Post. It is therefore my deepest honor and privilege to bring to you this week’s edition of: The Winning Smart Victory Post.

Coach Kirby Smart coached his 130th game this week for the Red & Black. He currently boasts a 110-20 record and a 0.8462 winning percentage, having carded his one hundred tenth win overall in the sixth game of the 2025 season against the Warplainstiglesmen of Awbarn.

At the identical juncture in their careers:

Vince Dooley’s 130th game as head coach resulted in a Georgia Bulldogs win over Kentucky in the seventh game of the 1975 season, giving Coach Dooley a record of 87-39-5 and 0.6885 percentage.

Coach Mark Richt was 97-33 (0.7462) after a win over Vandy in the seventh game of the 2010 season.

One hundred and thirty games into his head coaching career Kirby Smart is thirteen games ahead of Coach Mark Richt and ahead of Coach Vince Dooley by 23 games. As of now, he is holding his own versus the two winningest coaches in Georgia Football History.

As always . . .

Go ‘Dawgs !!!!
