Another production is heading to Georgia, which is welcome news after the production slow-down in the state. Netflix’s All the Sinners Bleed, a nine-episode adaptation of S.A. Cosby’s bestselling novel, will soon begin filming around November 3, 2025 in the Atlanta area. The series is produced by Steven Spielberg alongside Michelle and Barack Obama with Rose Lock Casting performing the background casting duties.
About the Series
All the Sinners Bleed is a nine-episode adaptation of Cosby’s Southern noir novel. The story follows Titus Crown, the first Black sheriff of a small Bible Belt county, who must track down a serial killer that has been quietly targeting his Black community for years in the name of God.
The series comes from writer and showrunner Joe Robert Cole, known for his work on Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Cole will not only serve as showrunner and executive producer but also direct several episodes, including the premiere.
Cast and Characters
The series features a strong cast:
- Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Gangs of London, Black Rabbit) as Sheriff Titus Crown
- John Douglas Thompson (The Gilded Age, Mare of Easttown) as Albert Crown, Titus’ father
- Nicole Beharie (Miss Juneteenth, The Morning Show) as Darlene Taylor, Titus’ girlfriend
Beharie’s addition to the cast is a standout, as she continues to build momentum following acclaimed roles on The Morning Show, Killing Castro, and By Any Means.
Behind the Camera
The series is backed by some of the biggest names in entertainment. Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television are executive producing, alongside Cole and S.A. Cosby himself. Netflix and Higher Ground have previously teamed up on projects such as Leave the World Behind, Bodkin, and Rustin.
From Bestseller to Screen
S.A. Cosby’s 2023 novel was both a New York Times bestseller and a pick on President Obama’s summer reading list. Known for his gritty, propulsive crime fiction, Cosby’s work brings themes of justice, race, and faith to the forefront — making this Georgia-filmed adaptation one to watch.
