Netflix’s Free Bert, a new comedy series co-created and headlined by stand-up comedian Bert Kreischer, began production in Atlanta starting July 9, 2025. Filming will run through August 11, 2025.
About the Series
Free Bert is an upcoming Netflix Original sitcom centered around Kreischer, who plays a fictionalized version of himself. In the series, Bert is a stuntman who finds himself navigating the posh world of private school parents after being fired from his hit TV show. The story follows his chaotic attempts to fit in with the elite social circles surrounding his daughters’ new school.
The show is created and written by Bert Kreischer along with Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul, who also serve as executive producers. Additional executive producers include Lilly Burns, Elise Henderson, Tony Hernandez, LeeAnn Kreischer (Bert’s real-life wife), and Judi Marmel. The series is produced by Counterpart Studios.
Cast and Characters
- Bert Kreischer stars as himself, bringing his signature energy and eccentric persona to the screen. Known for his bare-chested stand-up and wild storytelling, Kreischer’s biggest acting role to date was in the 2023 comedy film The Machine, based on his viral stand-up bit.
- Arden Myrin plays Bert’s wife, LeeAnn. Myrin is no stranger to Netflix audiences, having appeared in Insatiable and Orange Is the New Black. She’s also known for her roles in Shameless, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and The Righteous Gemstones. Myrin once appeared in the Robot Chicken: Star Wars specials — a parody series that’s part of the extended pop culture galaxy orbiting the Star Wars franchise. While it wasn’t an official Lucasfilm project, her voice work contributed to the cult-favorite stop-motion satire series that spoofed iconic Star Wars moments.
- Ava Ryan and Lilou Lang portray Bert’s daughters, Georgia and Ila. Ryan previously appeared in Yo Gabba Gabbaland, while Lang makes her acting debut in Free Bert.
- Mandell Maughan, known for roles in Resident Alien, Black-ish, and Grace and Frankie, also joins the cast in an undisclosed role.
Filming in Georgia
