The City of Gainesville will soon be offering its annual service of collecting leaves curbside throughout the city.

The annual biweekly service resumes Oct. 6 and continues through Jan. 30, 2026.

To ensure roadways remain clear and safe, the Street Maintenance Division requests residents adhere to the following guidelines when placing leaves curbside:

  • Leaves are to be placed in long, narrow piles behind the curb
  • Do not place leaves in the gutter as it can inhibit storm water from draining properly
  • Do not place leaves in the road as this can create a hazard impacting traffic
  • Please remove all debris such as sticks, limbs and trash
