If your Christmas cactus is still looking happy after flowering, May is when things naturally start to change. It’s out of bloom, but not really in a resting phase anymore. This is the point where a bit of attention goes a long way, especially if you’re figuring out what to do with a Christmas cactus in May and want to set it up properly for the months ahead.
What’s happening now is fairly unglamorous but important: the plant is currently switching into growth mode, building up energy and forming new segments for later flowering.
