Update on suspects at large after fleeing from authorities near Baldwin

The search continues for suspects fleeing from Banks and Habersham County law enforcement agencies on Wednesday May 27, 2026, while the number of suspects in custody and at-large has been updated.

A social media post from Habersham County Sheriff’s Office late Wednesday evening reports that there is one suspect of four in custody from an initial search near Baldwin.  Originally, Baldwin Police social media posts reported two of the four unidentified suspects were in custody after Banks County Sheriff’s deputies began pursuit of a vehicle that ended in Habersham County.

Law enforcement officers are searching the area along Duncan Bridge Road, stretching from the industrial park area to Ga. 365, including Mallard Pond and nearby residential neighborhoods.  As of last report, residents remain urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

No further details or descriptions about the suspects have been released at the time of this update.

A manhunt is underway in the Baldwin area after a vehicle pursuit that began in Banks County ended in Habersham County on Wednesday.

The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and other law enforcement agencies are assisting Banks County authorities in the ongoing search near Baldwin.

Banks County deputies pursued a vehicle into Habersham County before four individuals reportedly exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Two suspects were later taken into custody, while two others remain at large.

Law enforcement officers are searching the area along Duncan Bridge Road, stretching from the industrial park area to Ga. 365, including Mallard Pond and nearby residential neighborhoods.

Residents are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternate travel routes as a heavy law enforcement presence remains in place.

Authorities have not released additional information about the suspects at large. Details regarding what led to the vehicle pursuit have not yet been made public and are being handled by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office.
