In response to ongoing wildfire activity in South Georgia, Troup County Fire Department has deployed assistance and equipment to help with fire suppression and containment efforts.
Local resources are being mobilized to help protect communities and limit the spread of active fires. Troup County’s deployed personnel will be working alongside state and regional partners to strengthen containment lines and support suppression operations.
“This type of collaboration is critical during times like these,” said Public Safety Director Zac Steele. “Our commitment to being good neighbors and providing assistance to other jurisdictions is valuable in strengthening the ability to respond effectively – whether here at home or wherever help is needed.”
Troup County remains proactive and prepared to respond to local needs while assisting in this coordinated response effort. Residents are encouraged to remain mindful of current weather conditions and exercise caution, avoiding outdoor burning and any activities that could spark a fire. Please adhere to Georgia Forestry Commission and local officials’ guidance and regulations.
