Week 10 is in the books for standard running backs and the book is just a big glossy photo of Jonathan Taylor carrying his whole team on his back from Germany back to the states. What a game this man had against the Falcons, rushing for 244 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 42 more yards on three receptions. This all happened with his quarterback playing awfully while taking a whopping seven sacks. Taylor was the offense and has been why the Colts are where they are in the standings. He’s the MVP through the first 10 games without much of a doubt.
Week 11 byes
Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints
Running backs on bye
Jonathan Taylor, Alvin Kamara
RB streamer of the week
Woody Marks, Texans at Titans
Marks has taken over the lead role in Houston and gets a good matchup this week against a weak Titans defense. The rookie already had a strong game against this team in Houston when he put up 119 total yards and two touchdowns.
RB injuries
J.K. Dobbins, Broncos
Dobbins suffered a foot injury in Week 10 on Thursday night, so he has some extra time to recover and initial indications are that it isn’t a long term injury. If he were to miss, rookie RJ Harvey would see a good boost in fantasy appeal.
Bam Knight, Cardinals
Knight left their Week 10 game against the Seahawks with an ankle injury and didn’t return. At this point we con’t have much to go on, but if he can’t go, Emari Demercado would likely see a good bit of work in his place, as Trey Benson is not ready to return.
Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots
Stevenson missed Weeks 9 and 10 with a toe injury and his availability for this week remains up in the air, but he did get a limited practice in on Monday for their Thursday night matchup against the Jets. TreVeyeon Henderson and Terrell Jennings split work in his absence, but Jennings suffered an injury himself in Week 10, giving Henderson the lead, which he took advantage of for a big game. It would make sense to get Henderson more involved moving forward, but it’s difficult to know how things will shake out at the position once Stevenson returns.
Trey Benson, Cardinals
Benson was injured in Week 4 and underwent arthroscopic surgery on his meniscus. His return time table was set at 4-6 weeks, but it looks like we’re going to miss that. Without Benson, the team hasn’t really settled on a lead back, but Bam Knight’s ankle injury could push more onto Emari Demercado’s plate, as he has been efficient with his touches of late.
Omarion Hampton, Chargers
Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh said he doesn’t expect Omarion Hampton to return until after the Week 12 bye. That leaves Kimani Vidal as the lead back until then.
Bucky Irving, Buccaneers
Irving missed the last five games with a shoulder and ankle injury, but there is still no timetable for his return. Rachaad White and Sean Tucker will continue to see work in his absence.
Isaiah Pacheco, Chiefs
Pacheco injured his knee late in their Week 8 MNF game against the Commanders. He suffered an MCL sprain, which shelved him for their Week 9 matchup with the Bills, but with their Week 10 bye, he has a good shot of returning this week against the Broncos.
