Several Hall County (HCSD) Schools were recognized by Georgia State Superintendent Richard Woods
for exceptional academic growth on the 2025 Georgia Milestones Assessments during a
ceremony held yesterday at North Hall High School.
The recognitions highlight schools across the district for notable gains in mathematics and
literacy, as well as outstanding achievement in math. These honors reflect sustained
instructional focus, student achievement, and the commitment of teachers, staff, and school
leadership.
“Georgia Milestones growth recognitions represent real progress for students,” said
Superintendent Will Schofield. “Our schools are demonstrating that targeted instruction and
high expectations can support strong academic outcomes.”
The following Hall County Schools were recognized by the Georgia Department of Education:
High Schools
Flowery Branch High School — Growth in Literacy
North Hall High School — Growth in Literacy and Mathematics
Middle Schools
Cherokee Bluff Middle School — Outstanding Achievement in Mathematics
C.W. Davis Middle School — Growth in High School Mathematics
North Hall Middle School — Outstanding Achievement in Mathematics
South Hall Middle School — Growth in Mathematics
West Hall Middle School — Growth in High School Mathematics*
World Language Academy Middle School — Growth in High School Mathematics*

Friendship Elementary School — Growth in Literacy

*Middle schools receiving recognition for “high school growth” are recognized for student
performance in high school–level Carnegie Unit courses taken by middle school students.
“These recognitions affirm the hard work happening daily in our classrooms,” said Assistant
Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, Suzanne Jarrard. “We are proud of our students and
teachers for setting high goals and achieving meaningful academic growth.”
Georgia Milestones Assessments measure student mastery of state-adopted content standards
and serve as an important indicator of academic progress statewide.
