The BLITZ Baseball Players of the Week are Logan Sawyer (Dawson), Carter Nguyen (White), and Ashton Roache (Tallulah). Sawyer won the Fan Vote with 23,859 of the 54,254 total votes. Nguyen and Roache were the BLITZ Picks.
LOGAN SAWYER – DAWSON COUNTY
Dawson County got a huge performance from senior Logan Sawyer. The outfielder batted .692 with eight RBI, four runs, and four doubles in a 3-game series against rivals Lumpkin County. This is his first POW award.
CARTER NGUYEN – WHITE COUNTY
Carter Nguyen had an incredible week for the Warriors, who are playoff bound. The senior shortstop hit .833 (five hits), knocked in four runs and scored four more, while adding two doubles and a walk. He had an .857 OBP and 2.024 OPS. This is his second career POW award.
ASHTON ROACHE – TALLULAH FALLS
Ashton Roache takes his four career POW award and third this season. The Cal commit had another incredible performance, batting .727 (eight hits), five RBI, four doubles, a triple, seven runs, four stolen bases, two walks, and even notched a save in relief. He holds nearly every school record, and this past week captured the all-time RBI mark.
